It was an incredible honour to welcome His Majesty the King and Camilla, Queen Consort to Malton today, along with the Lord Lieutenant, the new High Sherriff, Tom Naylor-Leyland, Sir Phillip Naylor-Leyland and Richard Flinton. As MP for Thirsk and Malton and Minister for Small Business, this visit was an especially significant and proud moment. Malton boasts an eclectic mix of small and artisan businesses, critical for the local economy and making the town a destination for people globally.
His Majesty spent time talking to the owners and staff in the Rare Bird Distillery, Florian Poirot’s, the Groovy Moo, Bluebird Bakery, Roost Coffee and Food 2 Remember butchers, before moving on to meet local charities at York House who do incredible work in our community.
I am so proud to represent this town and hope today’s visit has shown what North Yorkshire has to offer.
