I was thrilled to invite Kyle Boote, founder of Helmsley Brewing Co. to Parliament this week. The Brewery's 'Yorkshire Legend' beer, is being featured in Strangers’ Bar at the Houses of Parliament after I requested for it to be included in a hugely competitive waitlist. I was delighted to welcome Mr Boote to Parliament on Tuesday to pull a pint and witness his creation on display. The 'Yorkshire Legend' is the guest ale for the next two weeks and is the first beer to be part of this feature since the pandemic.
I am delighted that the Yorkshire Legend is a guest beer in Strangers’ Bar this week as there is a very long waiting list from breweries around the country. I have long been a supporter of pubs and it is very important, especially in Thirsk and Malton where we have so many fantastic hostelries, that we give them whatever support we can afford. It was therefore heartening to hear how Government support during the pandemic enabled Kyle to expand the Brewery to include an outdoor space, meaning business could continue.
The Yorkshire Legend is a 3.8% bitter with rich dark, chocolate, berry and toasted notes. If constituents haven't already tried it, it's available across Thirsk and Malton and, of course, at the Helmsley Brewing Co. brew tap. I hope to feature another constituency-based beer in Strangers' in the coming months.
