I’d like to encourage publicans and pub lovers across the constituency to take part in a Pubs APPG inquiry into how to support them post pandemic.
The All Party Parliamentary Group on Pubs is a cross party group of MPs who aim to promote and campaign in the interests of pubs, landlords and the communities across the country. The APPG has launched an inquiry into what is needed to ensure pubs thrive as they emerge from the COVID 19 crisis. Responses from the inquiry will be used to make recommendations to Government.
We have some fantastic hostelries in Thirsk and Malton all set to open up indoors from Monday 17th May, which is great news. However, it has been tough for many over the past 12 months, especially those which were not able to reopen for outdoor service, which has been allowed since April 12th. I really hope that pub landlords and pub goers will take part in this inquiry so ministers can better understand what their future needs may be. I know pubs are at the very heart of local communities and we all want to see them survive and thrive in the future.
The first stage of the inquiry runs until 21st May. To take part visit https://apppg.camra.org.uk/inquiry/ or send a written submission to [email protected]
