I want to thank everyone involved in helping roll out the tremendously successful vaccination programme across Thirsk and Malton. It’s been a mammoth task which has seen a total of 208,466 vaccinations administered across North Yorkshire and York. This means that everyone in the top four priority groups have been offered a jab. I am delighted that 89% of residents in North Yorkshire care homes and 71% of staff have taken this up. Anyone who has missed out, through illness or another reason, can still be vaccinated. You should either contact your GP or email me at [email protected]
It has been a hugely positive experience. I have visited a number of GP surgeries over the past few weeks and have been incredibly impressed by how upbeat the staff, volunteers and the patients have been. I’ve also received a number of letters from grateful constituents impressed by the efficiency of the way the programme has been run. It is a credit to everyone.
As of February 15th people in the next two priority groups (over 65s and those aged 16-64 with underlying health conditions) will be receiving a letter inviting them for a vaccination and I would urge everyone to take up the opportunity.
Plans are underway to invite people for their second dose within the three month deadline and people should look out for a letter when it is their turn. There is no need to contact your surgery.
