I am delighted that the final business case for Scarborough Hospital Urgent and Emergency Care Capital Scheme has been approved by the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England and the Improvement Joint Investment Sub Committee. This is fantastic news for the community that Scarborough Hospital provides key health services for, as well as the dedicated group of staff that work for the hospital. It will provide the hospital with an opportunity to deliver fundamental emergency services. The plan is that the new building will open in the Spring of 2024. I have worked closely with Scarborough Hospital and Robert Goodwill MP on many occasions to secure more funding and to review the range of health care services that the hospital offers. I will continue to ensure that constituents are able to access the very best of this healthcare service.
