Congratulations to Musley Bank Stables in Malton which has won two categories in the prestigious 2018 Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards. Jessica McLernon, assistant trainer to Richard Fahey, was named Employee of the Year which was the main prize of the evening and she also won the Leadership category.
The awards have six categories and recognise and reward the outstanding skills, commitment and contribution of racing’s 6,000 stud and stable staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes of the racing and breeding industries every day, an industry worth £3.5 billion annually to the UK. Another finalist was Ben Stephens, from Newstead stables in Malton, who was in the Rider Groom category.
This year there were some 256 nominations received across the six award categories.
So well done to Jessica and all her colleagues. It is great that Malton whose history of thoroughbred horse racing goes back to the seventeenth century has been recognised in this way.
