The Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme aims to redress financial shortfalls, and to support our listed and protected architecture for the benefit of present and future generations. Listed places of worship represent some of our nation’s finest heritage, and HM Government recognises that there are particular challenges to looking after such cherished and historic buildings. The scheme provides grants towards the VAT paid on repairs and maintenance to the nation’s listed places of worship – of any religious group or denomination. The scheme presently handles around 7,000 claims per year, and applies to the whole UK.
📍 In Thirsk and Malton, listed places of worship have received £170,522 in funding since August 2022. See below table for locations.
⌨️ If constituents know of any other listed places of worship that may benefit from the scheme, please visit https://listed-places-of-worship-grant.dcms.gov.uk for more information on the scheme and how to submit an application.
