In another boost for North Yorkshire cycling, the Malton to Pickering cycle route has now opened, boasting a 12-mile path through the towns and enabling people to enjoy what our countryside has to offer. It will also be a chance for constituents and tourists to explore different routes, south to the Yorkshire Wolds or north to the North York Moors, Dalby Forest and the Yorkshire Coast.
The incredible rise in cycling in Yorkshire in the past few years, most notably due to the Tour de Yorkshire, has given a welcome boost to North Yorkshire's tourist economy. Having previously taken part in a charity bike ride, I hope to follow this with an e-bike ride and fundraiser in the coming year and try out the route myself.
