I am hosting two events for farmers and landowners on Friday 30 July in the Galtres Centre, Easingwold.
11am - Rural payments Agency (RPA) Roundtable
Paul Caldwell, RPA’s Chief Executive Officer and Director will facilitate the event. He will provide an update on the RPA’s main services, including land, Rural Development and livestock tracing.
You may know that Defra’s Secretary of State, George Eustice, recently gave a speech on 30th June on the Government’s Agricultural Transition Plan. Defra officials will be on hand to provide more detail on the new environmental land management schemes, including the early roll out of the Sustainable Farming Incentive in 2022.
Thirsk and Malton constituency claim around £34m BPS payments and £3.5 agri-environment payments each year.
There will be a Q &A and a chance to speak to Paul Caldwell and the Executive Team member. People from RPA will also be available if you wish to discuss specific claim issues with them.
1 pm - NFU Roundtable
I’m delighted to be able to invite you to my first roundtable since the pandemic and welcome questions on any farming related matters including the recent trade negotiations with Australia.
Please do let my office know at [email protected] if you wish to attend one or both of the events.
